Question Software to Transfer SMS and MMS from Android Phone to my Windows 7 PC

    Hi,
Does anyone use software they can recommend for transferring SMS and MMS from an Android phone to a Windows 7 PC? I've now got a collection of sensitive SMS texts on my phone that I would like to have included in the backups I'm routinely doing (finally ) for my home computer.

    Cheers

    Steve

Did your phone not come with a CD for PC synchronisation or possibly an instruction leaflet (I use that term loosely) pointing you to the manufacturers web site where you can download such software?

I use an Android program SMS Backup & Restore, whch backs up SMSs only to an XML file. This can then be backed up to your computer.

Might be at least a partial solution...

Thumbs up Thanks for the advice Chris - suggestion works a treat.

    Chris,
Brilliant, I downloaded the app and it worked as you suggested it would. The export to XML format and use of an XSL file for viewing the backed up contents in a more friendly format may not be for everyone but its free and it works, which ticks my boxes Thanks so much for your help.

    Cheers

To view sms/mms messages in conversations on computer, try one program called Android SMS + MMS Transfer. Works fine.

    Whageo,
Also a really good suggestion especially if you have more sophisticated message management requirements and don't object to spending a little bit of money. Another benefit is that this software doesn't require an app to be installed on your phone with all those requests for access to your contacts, phone details, data, etc, etc.
