need style numers to star over for each section (97 SR2)

How can I get heading Style numbers to start over at 1 for each section.
I'm using next page section break.
I would also like to keep page numbers continuous if possible but it isn't strictly necessary.

    First, if you're creating numbered lists, see <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=wrd&Number=76976&Search =true&Forum=wrd&Words=&Match=StarPost&Searchpage=0 &Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=76928>this</A> post.

Once you have your styles set up, just right click where you want to restart, choose Bullets & Numbering... & click the restart numbering radio button, then OK.

First, follow the suggestion to read the link on numbering.

Second, why are you starting a new section? You can set your heading1 style to begin at the top of a page and you can use the STYLEREF field in your headers and f ooters to provide dynamic information (change the header / footer when your chapter changes). (I create a style "Heading 1a" based on Heading 1 that does not start a new page for my first chapter if I don't want that chapter to start a new page.)

The only reasons I can think of for starting a new section for each chapter would be to use a different first page header/footer, start the chapter on an odd-numbered page, or using Section Page numbering.
