Advice please, is it necessary to run an anti keylogger, and if so which do you recommend?

Most AV/AM products will have some from of keylogging detection algorithm, but not all.
If you suspect a keylogging application on your own system then you will have a few choices out there in terms of detection, but you must have full admin level access credentials, that should go without saying. So it is not essentially necessary unless you specifically suspect such an application.
If you are on your workplace's computer system, then they have the right to install and run keyloggers, or any other software that is user tracking capable.
Any attempt to remove them from their systems may get you into some very hot water.DRIVE IMAGING
