Question Overdrive Media Console on Windows 8

I have long used Overdrive to download audiobooks from our local library, using Windows 7. I can't get it to work with Windows 8.

Anyone had success or have suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Will

Is the audiobook in wma format? If so, you have to install the desktop copy of the Overdrive console. The modern app available via the windows store doesn't support WMA books. I found you have to also associate wma files with windows media player.

Also you have to upgrade Windows media player drm security rights. You are supposed to be able to do it from within the Overdrive console by clicking:
Tools >Windows Media player Security Upgrade but that didn't work for me. You are also supposed to be able to upgrade by running Windows Explorer as Administrator and going to:http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/...en/indivit.asp but that didn't work for me either. Finally plugged that url into Chrome and it worked. I can now play Overdrive audio books in wma format via the desktop overdrive console.
