    Three lightbulbs, three switches

I have serched this forum with keywords and have not come up with a match to this riddle. Please excuse if this has been duplicated. Here goes.....

You are in a basement with no view to the upstairs. In front of you are 3 switches, each controlling one lightbulb upstairs. The riddle is: how to determine which switch controls which lightbulb. Once you go upstairs, you can not re-enter the basement and you must solve the riddle at that point.

    Have fun,
    Maud

Nice try, but you have to figure it out with the help of no one else. Just you. And no, all the information you need to know is presented. There is no additional equipment or people in this puzzle. Just 3 lightbulbs, 3 swicthes, and no view.
