    Save a Thread

    Is it possible to grab a whole posting and save it perhaps as a straight text file to be stashed in my on net storage location?

    Usually I just copy paste the pertinent paragraphs but posts like "Software Problem" over in Scuttlebutt need to show the development to be appreciated.

    Booklady,

    Solution #1. Don't worry about it. Something is funny because it's a surprise. Revisiting it doesn't make it any funnier.

    Solution #2. Develop photographic memory.

    Solution #3. View it in flat mode. Click on the <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/falt.gif>flat mode</A> icon to show in flat mode. You can change the number of items you display in flat mode in your user preferences. Using this option, you can even save as HTML, and redisplay everything (except for links. pictures, styles, stc).

    I'm not familiar with the daily digest which you can request to be sent out daily. Is there anything in that which might help?

    Of course, you have to be seriously addicted to the forum to follow Solution #3.

    Solution #4:
    1. <LI>Click the <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/printthread.gif> (Format thread 4 printing) icon top right of the thread.
      This will take you to a basic layout and your Print window will open. Close it.
      <LI>Open Notepad
      <LI>If using IE, press Ctrl+A (Select all)
      <LI>Press Ctrl+C (Copy)
      <LI>Select Notepad and press Ctrl+V (Paste)

    Re: Save a Thread

    Tx Geoff I was thinking about pandering to other peoples addictions. Sometime ago someone asked about finding previous joke postings which disappear from the ephemeral lounges. I have been considering saving them. Unfortunately my "FREE" on net storage just dropped the "R". So still thinking about it.

    Tx Lief I keep forgetting that print doesn't necessarily mean PRINTER print. I will try your suggestion. I would suppose that I could then upload the notepad file to on line storage. When I find some more online storage. Thats the trouble with most freebies you get what you pay for.

    The easiest way of all is to use your Browser's File/SaveAs feature - choose
    'WebPage Complete' to put the graphics in a separate folder (the default);
    'Archive' to incorporate the graphics (MIME encoded) ;
    'HTML only' to keep the layout but ignore the graphics
    or
    'Text only'.
