Protect Worksheet but Allow Refresh from Sharepoint List

I have a worksheet that is linked back to a list on Sharepoint on my Company's network. I have some SUMIFS below the data and would like to protect those formulas while allowing the data to be able to be refreshed. I have:

    1. Highlighted the whole worksheet.
    2. Right clicked and on Format Cells, Unlocked all cells.
    3. Highlighted only the formula cells (below the data) and then locked those.
    4. Clicked on protect worksheet and allowed selecting locked cells but did not allow adding rows, columns, etc.

When I click on Data, Refresh All it tells me the worksheet is protected.

If it is possible to allow protection of the formulas while allowing for data refresh, I would like to know how.

    Thanks a many!

    Mitch,

I don't have sharepoint so I can't test your exact scenario but one thing you might try is to use VBA code to do the refresh that way the code can unprotect the sheet, do the refresh, then reprotect the sheet. You can also protect the macros from viewing to so knowledgeable users can't peek at the password. HTH

I don't know VBA or how to do what you are referring to...
