When I start Windows 7, the Windows indexer grabs hold of disk resources and won't let go until it is done-several minutes. During that time, I am unable to use the computer or even start applications. I did manage to start Task manager and look into the Performance screen and determine this. Indexing is supposed to release control to the user. How do I make this happen. I do have indexing set to index the contents of files, because I need that feature, and I have several hard drives, but still indexing ought to take second place to the needs of the human who wants to use the computer, no?
