    From cell to chart title (97/2000/2002)

    I've got an interesting question: how to put a content from cell A1 to act as a main title on a chart embedded to worksheet?

    As always regarding to Excel problems, using VBA led to trivial solution. All you have to do is select a chart (whole chart, not an object inside of it) and run following macro:

    Sub FromCellToChartTitle()
    ActiveChart.ChartTitle.Select
    Selection.Characters.Text = Range("A1").Value
    End Sub

    And that does it.

    But, question turns to be quite interesting. It is unusual that Excel Development people had not achieved to activate fields in Chart Wizard (step 3 has fields to populate title and text on axes), which should be fairly simple to do. I didn't notice this since a friend ask me that question, and I was sure it coluld be done through cell reference.

    So, what do you think of it? Is it perhaps some technique I don't see?

    Yes, you can do this. Just make a chart with a title as usual. Then select the titll and in the commandline (edit line), next to Graph Title, type in ' = ' and select the cell where your title is.
