Java stays disabled in IE 9/Win7

The Sun Java console in IE9 stays disabled. I go into Manage Add-Ons and change it to enabled, close the box, but it stays disabled.

This is causing problems on one web-site.

    Any suggestions?

    Check
    Control panel
    Java
    Security
Make sure the box next to "Enable Java content in the browser" is checked."

    Jw:

I did check that, and the box is checked.

    Awaiting other suggestions!

    Congratulations!
You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 21).

Then, What makes you think Java isn't running? Ther might be some other issue on the web site in question.

When I check the Manage Add-Ons in IE 9.0, it says Java Console is disabled. I switch it to Enabled but it immediately goes back to Disabled.

Regarding the web-site, my other browsers work just fine on it. I can post a link if so desired.

The java console shouldn't have any impact on web site operation. I don't have it enabled when I enable Java. If you want to enable the java console, see:

I've done all that. It still says Console Disabled in IE 9 .

As you said, this may have nothing whatever to do with the web-site issue and may not be a problem whatsoever!

Are you running as a standard user by any chance?

Even if you're not, does the IE setting stick if you do a "Run as administrator" when starting IE before making the change?

Just an idea, as I'm no computer expert, but are the security settings in IE too high?
