    Unhappy Tango Video Calls

I'm runing Windows 8 and I downloaded Tango and used it for a bit. Now I've switched to Skype so I installed the programme, but the icon still shows up in my system tray notifications list, and when I click on 'show hidden notifications' it's still there, doing nothing.

How do I get rid of an icon for a programme that I don't use anymore?

Yes, there are other ways to do it (and then some more) .

Uninstalling the app should have removed the icon. Did the uninstall complete successfully?

Yes, it did. So what else is there? I'm not using the command prompt.

Maybe this can be of help, then: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ons-reset.html

This one may be performed manually and provides a bit more info on each of the steps:

Other than making sure the program was removed... and if it was, you can install it and remove it again and see if that helps.

Okay, I saw on that one link that they used CCleaner too. But it didn't work for me. Is there something I'm missing?

You could look to see if you have a system restore point prior to the installation of tango.
Otherwise, you could try searching the registry for all occurrences of Tango. You might want to make a system restore point before making any changes to the registry.

I didn't make a system restore point...I don't want to be looking through the registry.

Took about four hours to fix, but I finally got it.
