    No taskbar in applications

Ran across a problem with a client machine I've never seen before. The task bar is there when viewing the desktop but is gone whenever an application is launched maximized. When windowed, the taskbar reappears. hitting F11 to toggle full screen mode has no effect.

Did you check the taskbar properties?

Somtimes with XP changing task bar properties such as turning off "keep on top", re-booting the PC, and turning it back on fixed strange happenings.

View>Aways on Top needs to be checked, or you could Alt+Tab to it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did peek at taskbar properties to check to see if autohide was set but I missed the keep on top setting. Will verify that the next time I have access to the laptop. The other thing that occurred to me is that some laptops need to have the Fn key depressed while hitting a Function key so I'll try Fn + F11 to see if full screen is set.
