    Keyboard displays wrong characters

Keyboard displays the wrong characters? I'm experiencing problems as some of my symbols and characters display in a different place? I understand that this is normally a common error whereby the keyboard is setup incorrectly and, in the UK the keyboard uses the US keyboard settings

I understand that this would normally be quite easy to sort out via Control Panel - Date, Time, Language and Regional Options/Regional Settings etc. Unfortunately my settings appear to be correct and after resetting them the keyboard still displays the wrong characters and now I don't know what to do to resolve this problem.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Cheers

Do you have another keyboard you can use to make sure the error isn't in the kbd itself?
I'd highly suggest this as a first step as you can play with settings all day and if the kbd is kaput it won't mean a thing.
    Any spills lately?
Have you blown the kbd with compressed air to clean out debris?
Have you tried the kbd on another computer?

Could you give some examples of:
engraved character on the keyboard --- what it produces wrongly on the screen in (say) NOTEPAD.

Also, are you located in the UK and using a UK keyboard?
What version of Windows are you using?
