Loss of Address Book in windows Live Mail after last MS Update

Dell Inspiron 17 Notebook, Windows 7 OS
After May updates were downloaded it appears that Windows Live Mail Address Book was deleted.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

Yes, most users will have lost them at one time or another. Here is how to prevent future occurrences. Mail Tips.pdf

Hey Roderunner, why not just open WLM and click on contacts, then "Export" and save them to a .csv file? Whole lot easier than switching to gmail?

    Thanks John

I've never experienced loss of a contacts book after a Windows Update, but the best way to preserve it for future reference
would be the export function as John suggests. I would go further and export email and account setting too.

Switching to Gmail is only an option for users not keeping a regular backup strategy for WLM contacts. If contacts are saved in a Microsoft account and your using WLM signed-in you won't lose them

Thanks for the responses. Will export to a csv. file in future.
Have backup program for my e-mail, but it stores only folders and not address book.
