    Kill Games Signon!

    Hey Y'all,

    I use a local account for my Win 8 Pro setup. Every time I want to play Minesweeper I have to deal with the Sign into Microsoft Account prompt. Does anyone know how to kill this prompt?

    BTW: Use a Microsoft account is not an acceptable answer.

    I do not know myself. I sign onto Free Cell or Mahjong and both request my MS sign-on. I finally gave in a signed on using my Hotmail account. If I want my daily challenges to get accepted, I have to be signed on. Oh well, such is life. Perhaps we will both get an answer RG.

    Bruce,

    I take it that since you're still posting you weren't that central Florida person with the winning ticket!

    I'm going to send Dr. Who a PM, reminding him how I looked him up in Feb., and be nice to him since he lives in the area also.

    @Bruce,

    Minesweeper in Windows 8 is an XBOX Live app so it is trying to signon to track your achievements. Just cancel and you should be OK.

    I initially signed in to Windows 8 with a Microsoft Account and found I had no use for the additional features. So I changed it to a local account. I also use Metro Minesweepeeper and a couple of other games and they log in automatically for me. Somewhere along the line it assigned me an Xbox user ID that I didn't pick myself and that what it logs me in as. It can be a pain since it can take awhile sometimes but its a requirement to sue those games.

    Bruce, Is there a "Remember password" checkbox available when you log in?
