Finding which category in an excel table

I need to find out which class a figure is in. Can you help me with a formula to return the class if I give it a number? I have tried nesting if statements but its not working right!

    Thanks in advance

    Excel formula.xlsx

I hope that this works - the Excel file should be attached.

    Photorer,

I wasn't sure what you exactly meant by "class" so I assumed the row number.
This formula should return what I think you're after.
    =MATCH(VLOOKUP(E2,Start,1),Start)+1

Note: this assumes you setup 2 range names, e.g. Start A2:A7 and End B2:B6
