    Windows 8.1 Start Button

For me, totally useless and pointless.

"The Start button is back—but the Start menu isn’t.

Instead, clicking the old familar button will dump you into the modern UI Start screen."

MS really seems to want users to use the new Start Screen. Thanks but no thanks. I will continue with Start8 or Classic Shell, or whatever. Someone will always develop something to get around any "blocks" MS has to use these apps.

I have found that if a person controls what tiles are left on the Start Screen, it can be kept manageable, it's just I prefer the look of the Desktop UI. At this point almost all tiles on my Start Screen open in the desktop anyway. I do not seem to have a need for most of the Win 8 style apps.

Some information on some of the under-the-hood aspects of 8.1.
