Word task bar icon previous files not listed.

I have a Word 2010 icon on my task bar. It used to be that all my documents that I open every day appeared when I right clicked on this icon. If I want to reopen a document, I can use the right click feature to select it. Now, this feature doesn’t work any longer. When I restart or shut down for the day, those documents disappear from this icon. Then I have to find them using the Open and Recent command line.

What turns off this feature of storing my opened documents on the Word task bar icon?

This same problem occurs with Excel, so the solution is probably the same for both.

    Bob,

Do you run a program like CCleaner? These programs will kill your Jump Lists unless you tell them not to. HTH

Yes, they can automate the Privacy section in Taskbar and Start menu properties so check there under the Start menu tab. Also check the customize... section there to be sure the number of taskbar jumplist items to display didn't get set to zero.
