    Using Office365 with own domain

    Office365 is being sold as small business friendly, but to me it seems anything but!

    I thought I'd have a go at setting up my email on Office365 so I could benefit from their v cheap Exchange offering. But it's turned out to be a nightmare and I've given up. I've read what must be about 10 different help articles but they are all slightly out of date as the interface is always slightly different. I'm not sure if I can even do what I want. Some articles suggest yes, others not.

    I've got my own domain registered with FastHosts, then a website hosted at At my webhost is a nice control panel that allows me to set up popmail boxes and mail forwarding. I forward some email addresses to Gmail so I and others can use IMAP, which the webhost doesn't really have.

    What I want is to be able to keep my webhosting, keep the email addresses forwarding to Gmail but have one email address on Office365 with Exchange so I can have calendars and contacts in Outlook, my iPhone and so on.

    Has anyone got this arrangement and found an easy way to set it up?
