    Database control button does not populate next patient form

    Good morning,

    I have created a patient database with a patient information form.

    On the patient information form is a control button that the staff will type the name of the patient and hit the enter key (on click) and that patients form will populate the screen.

    However, it allows us to type the name and it populated the box but the form does not open up.

    Blow is the code for this action

    Private Sub Combo40_AfterUpdate()
    ' Find the record that matches the control.
    Dim rs As Object

    Set rs = Me.Recordset.Clone
    rs.FindFirst "[DODID] = '" & Me![Combo40] & "'"
    Me.Bookmark = rs.Bookmark

    End Sub

    Thank you so much for your assistance.

    It appears that the code in your post was generated using the wizard for combo boxes. Did this work when you used the SSN as the key, and you are now changing it to use the DODID field as the key? If so, check your combo box and make sure it is using the DODID as it's data source. As an alternative, you could try creating a new combo box using the wizard, and see if that works.

    I tried a new combo box and that didn't work using the wizard.
