Post Commenter's initials change to someone else's

    Word 2007, Windows 7

    Hi All,

I have just come across something I have never seen before.

I received a file to edit in Track Changes mode with comments by 'A' in red.

I cancelled Track Changes mode and started editing.

I added a blue comment with DHR, my initials.

A couple of minutes later I saw that my DHR 2 comment had become A2 without me doing anything.

    Please see the attachment.

How on earth did that happen!?

    Thanks for all input.

    David

I'm thinking this is due to your options. There is a setting to protect privacy which strips out identification information from the document when you save it. Reviewers names is one of the things taken out (and replaced with 'Author'). I don't have Word 2007 running anymore so I can't verify this setting's location but this link may help you find it.
