    Post Windows 8 Restarts Twice_Why?

Every time I restart Windows 8 on my PC everything goes fine; then after a very short time it suddently goes into "restart" again. After the second "restart" all is fine and works as normal. Why is this happening? TX folks.

Have you checked the system event logs?

Is this a desktop, notebook, or tablet?

    Are you up-to-date with patches?

    Try a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If the clean boot works, use the diagnostic procedure given on that page.

Yes up to date with patches.
It is a desktop PC. (I have a laptop running W8; however, it restarts okay without problems).
I'm not familar with the events log viewing. I went and had a look but could find nothing relating to this problem. Could you suggest where I should look in the event log please?

Thanks Jerry. I have printed out the instructions and will perform a clean boot this am. I will post results.

I performed the clean boot and all went okay. It seems to have fixed the problem (I restarted again to see). Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear it. Now use the diagnostic procedure outlined on that page to find the culprit.
