    Express Settings

My Win 7 Home Premium laptop -- but not my two Win 7 Home Premium desktops -- has had for the last week or two a persistent DOS-like window named Express Settings. The only way I have found to close it is to force closing through the Windows Task Manager (where the process is called Express Tray).

Is it an indication of some malware not caught by my malware and virus protection programs? Is there a way to remove it permanently (and is there any harm or benefit in doing so)?

    Thanks.

This appears to be something that comes from Garmin. It appears to be loaded in the Registry Startup. You could check What's In Startup, or Autoruns for Windows to disable or delete it.

If you Google Express Tray Windows you will get more info.

Thanks -- that's it! I have Garmin on my laptop but not my desktops.

I admit that I feel stupid -- I should have googled the term before I posted a forum item!

We all have ah ha moments. I seem to have them more often as I get older and forget something that I feel foolish afterward. I'm glad I could help.
