    Removing a program

I have a netbook - not first owner - that came with an expired trial copy of Office 10 and a full copy of Works 9. I uninstalled the trial copy, installed Office 2003 and tried to remove Works 9 using add/remove, but the operation hung and I had to use ctrl/alt/del. The program now does not appear in the program list or add/remove, and even in Hunter mode Your Uninstaller Pro cannot remove it - message cannot find uninstaller. I have found the program in Explorer and going direct to the application file the full program works fine - the folder contains about 170 MB of files. How can I remove the program - I do not have a Works 9 disk to try a re-install and then remove. I could delete the folder and run CCleaner, including the registry cleaner component, but there would bound to be bits still scattered about the computer - the alternative is just to leave it. Any suggestions.
