    Display settings

    I have an HP-Envy 17 laptop. My current sleep and display settings are "Never":

    Dim the display - Never;
    Turn off the display - Never;
    Put the computer to sleep - Never.

    Will these settings hurt the external HP Full HD LCD monitor that I am using?

    Thank you for any guidance you can give me.

    No, but you might want to set the screensaver to blank screen if not in constant use, they put out a fairly significant amount of heat and energy over time.

    I would either blank the screen after so many minutes of inactivity, or I would get it to display some sort of moving image. In this way you won't get a burned in image on your screen.

    Burned-in images were a big problem in the past, but they aren't so much of a problem now. Still, to be on the safe side, I would try to keep it from happening.
