    Dark color surrounding documents.

    Suddenly, I have a dark brown color surrounding all of my documents, and worksheets. I have checked the Windows Color and Appearance page, and it doesn’t appear there. It affects all the borders surrounding the document, such as the Status Bar and the Quick Access Tool Bar and the Scroll Bar. Whatever fixes this in Word will probably be the same cure for Excel.

    Never mind. Somehow, my color selection at the File, Options, General, User interface options, Color Scheme, was changed to Black. I changed it back to Blue, and that solved the problem here in Word and in Excel.

    I solved the problem by going back and changing every color option I could find, until I found the solution. Now, I have to figure out how it got changed in the first place.
