Laptop screen goes white (grey) when moved

I am using a Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop running Windows 7 OS. Occasionally from certain angles of viewing I get a visual that needs to move the screen slightly in order to clarify the screen. Sometimes when I do move it towards or away from me the screen goes completely white (grey) and I can't escape from it. Nothing happens when I try "Control, Alt, Delete" and the only thing I have been able to do is to power off using the on/off button, because there is nothing on the screen, not even the task bar. I hate powering off that way as I know is isn't good for the machine, but it seems to be the only alternative.

Does anyone know what the problem is and/or how to solve it?

Sounds like a failing connection to the screen to me. Movement causes a connection to break just enough ... white screen. If you're under warranty I'd give Dell a call. HTH
