Delete All button - Outlook 2013

Hi. Does anyone know why the Delete All button does not work in the Spam, Trash or Deleted folders? Only way i have found is to use the Empty Folder option which requires confirmation. Thanks

I would say it is by design in Outlook 2013. As you've seen the "Empty Folder" button replaces the function for those special folders.

I hope the one extra button press to confirm the deletion is the hardest part of your day

I made a macro for myself that empties both the Junk folder and the Deleted folder at one shot:

    Code:
    Sub ZapEm()
        Dim NS As NameSpace
        Dim fld As Folder
        Dim idx As Integer
        On Error Resume Next

        Set NS = GetNamespace("MAPI")

        Set fld = NS.Folders("Personal Folders").Folders("Junk E-mail")
        For idx = 1 To fld.Items.Count
            fld.Items(1).Delete
        Next

        Set fld = NS.Folders("Personal Folders").Folders("Deleted Items")
        For idx = 1 To fld.Items.Count
            fld.Items(1).Delete
        Next
    End Sub
and I put a button for it on the Home ribbon. It doesn't remove folders that you've deleted, but I don't delete folders very often.

I make it a practice always to check the contents of at least the Junk folder before I click that button, just in case...
