    Backup Error Message

I am getting the following error message

    C:\Users\Home\Desktop\xxxbackop.pst can not be found

I had the backup utility installed and removed via add remove programs.

If I reinstall the utility will the error message go away?

I prefer not to have the utility installed and would like to not have the error message pop up every time I open up Outlook

    Thanks

Look in your navigation pane for the PST file and close it.

    Hi Joe,

I am not sure what you mean.

From your initial post it seems you have moved/deleted a PST archive file from the desktop. Outlook is attempting to mount this when it starts but cannot find it.

Read here for a quick reference to un-mounting the offending PST.

First Close outlook and after that search for the backup file that you want to open.

    Once found, use following steps:

    1. Click Start>>Control Panel>>Type ‘Mail’ in the ‘Search Control Panel ‘box and press the ‘Enter’ key.

    2. Select ‘Mail’ and click ‘Data Files’.

    3. Click ‘Add’, ‘OK’ and browse to the location of the pst file and open it.

    4. Now click ‘Set as Default’.

    Open outlook.
