    Re: Font-Print Issues (Word2000-SR1)

I'm curious as to what happens when you print to another printer--perhaps a completely different brand even.

Also curious if it's just this file or others also. What happens if you paste some of this errant text into a brand new document?

Unfortunately we only have Lexmark Optras so can't try another printer. However I am going to suggest printing it on an uneven number printer later today (we have two servers - even numbered printers on one, uneven on another) to see if that makes a difference.

    Font-Print Issues (Word2000-SR1)

A 100-pg document has to be formatted with Times New Roman 11pt ("TNR"). Usually this is not a problem and the font prints correctly. (BTW, we recently we upgraded to Office2000 and I we may have upgraded a print driver as well due to the fact that the double underline in Redlines produced by DeltaView was so faint as to be barely visible).
An issue has arisen wherein words that are hyphenated - i.e. "Smith-Black-Jones" (not the actual name used) and "forward-thinking" the hyphen is printing on part (about half) of the 'h' in Smith and the 'd' in forward. BUT: this is not happening consistently throughout the document but sporadically. We are not using Kerning or condensed with fonts.
In case this helps shed some light: recently had a user formatting a document with TNR 14pt where occasionally - no apparent pattern some letters would overprint much as mentioned above. If I changed the font to, for e.g. 14.5 or 13.5 - no problem. In this instance the 'overprint' did not involve hyphens.
    Any thoughts? <img src=/S/scratch.gif border=0 alt=scratch width=25 height=29>

    Hi Paddy,

This does sound like a printer driver issue.
