Post Windows 8 & Smart Television Set

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody would like to comment on their experience with Windows 8 and any "smart" TV set. I just purchased one and haven't set it up yet; was wondering if there were any "pitfalls" etc.

The only pitfall I can see is that an internet-connected TV is yet another entry point into your digital world, and as far as I understand, internet-connected devices (other than computers and smart phones) are not easily secured, which means that someone could hack their way into your network via the internet-connected TV. This has been known to happen on internet-connected printers.

If, however, the TV is not connected directly to the internet, but rather to the computer, you shouldn't need to worry about the above scenario.

Thanks. I've got it up and running now; just connected to the PC so should be "safe".
