Delete or Update/Edit Contact in Live Mail

I have a Windows 7 computer. I laboriously entered all my Contact info by hand. I do not have a hotmail account (that I know of). I am suddenly not able to delete duplicate entries, nor can I edit an existing entry. Get message THE CONTACT INFORMATION CANNOT BE SAVED. CHECK THE CONTACT'S INFORMATION AND TRY AGAIN. Help please!

    Try repairing Windows Live mail:
Go to Control Panel then :

    1. Click Programs and Features.

    2. Right click Windows Live Essentials then click Uninstall/Change.

    3. Select Repair all Windows Live programs in the dialog box.

    4. After the repair is done, reboot when asked.

Repair All Windows was not an option, but just clicking on Uninstall/Change caused Windows Live Mail to be uninstalled. I downloaded another version and installed it and now everything is working. I was terrified I'd lose my 89 Contacts, all the emails I had saved, plus the settings I needed to make the email work, but none of those things happened, so thank you. A terrifying experience but a happy ending as I can now delete or edit my Contacts.

    Thumbs up

The "Repair..." button fixed this problem for me tonight. However, before it finished the "repair," it gave me an error saying my internet connection had been lost (even though I was still connected.) It wouldn't work when I hit "retry," so I cancelled and ran the repair again but got the same error. I cancelled again and re-opened Windows Live Mail and tried adding the new contact, and I was able to do so. So the repair worked even though it didn't appear to have finished. I did not have to reboot the computer.
