    Hello all,

I realize that this won't be for everyone ...but it's an interesting concept nonetheless Replace your DVD \ CD RW with HD or SSD Regards Fred

Yes it is (interesting); if one can find the right caddy, my conversion was not so, er, neat, but it works.

Some of us were doing just that over 10 years ago: http://www.cnet.com/laptops/dell-lat...-20305954.html this range, for instance, had a CD/DVD drive that could be swapped out for a HDD, 2nd battery or Floppy drive in seconds.

You could have an external CD/DVD drive, and use it to copy the contents of each of your CDs/DVDs to the 2nd hard drive, and then load them as virtual drives as needed:

    http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...d-emulator.htm

This method would allow you to store the CD/DVD contents on any/all of your hard drives, or on your network, and then access them as virtual drives as needed.
