Is there any kind of app installed by this "Open Candy"? I would look in CP, Programs and Features (used to be called Add / Remove Programs I believe) to see if anything suspicious is present. If you can't identify something, open your browser and run a search for that listed app to see what it is.

I have been using Free YouTube converter and it shows in the download a OpenCandy License agreement
as per attachment. Would this be the problem perhaps?

There you go. The Free YouTube Converter loaded this foistware, that is identified as adware by MalwareBytes. Sometimes the things that we think make our lives easier or more useful/enjoyable are really malware designed for something else. Personally I would get rid of it. That's just me.

I also use Free you tube downloader and also got the pup infections.
I believe they are mostly for advertising.

But, after you remove them you won't get re-infected when you use YTD..

    I don't think you can.
I d/l mine right from their site and I still got it.

As far as I know you only get it during the initial install and if you remove it then you wont get it again unless you re-install it or install an update..

This is a link for YTD: http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com/download.html

I just update my version and got none of that. I had to decline Ask Toolbar and Winzip something, but I was able to and go no extras with the download.

Well Rui, I just updated mine about a week ago and also declined those things and still got it.

It's possible it may sneak in after you use it for awhile..

Also, Maleware Bytes Pro didn't catch it on the install...

Run a scan and see what happens.

I just did. The installer was flagged for something, as were some freeware installers, but that was all I got. I definitely didn't get a screen agreeing to those installs, like Dave's, so I am thinking it hasn't happened.

I don't emember if I got the other install options.
I updated mine from the ' check for updates' option in the downloader.

I wouldn't mind buying it but I think 29.95 a year is pretty steep for something I don't use that much.
