    Make <font color=red>sure</font color=red> nobody is using the database before deleting the LDB and you shouldn't have problems.

    Actually, the LDB file shouldn't be there if everyone has exited the database properly. However, it can stay around if the database crashes, and deleting it under those circumstances is supposed to help.

    If there are no users on the database and the LDB is hanging around ensure it is DELETED. LDB files can get corrupted and wreak havok on your database. The LDB file stores all the record locking data for multi user environments. No, no backend data will be lost.
