    Copy & Paste

I had a large number of audio files to rename. The renaming mainly involved copying the artist's name and then pasting it in front of the song title, followed by a hyphen. The name of the artist was the same for 99% of the files, and I used to be able to copy the name once and then paste it multiple times without having to copy it again. Now I have to recopy the name every time, otherwise the paste option is greyed out.

If someone could tell me how to sort this out I would be grateful.

    Thanks and regards,
    Roy

Thanks George, but I don't want to install another program to solve this annoyance. Until yesterday, whenever I copied something I could paste it any number of times without having to recopy the text, folder or file, so presumed it is a normal function of the system. Maybe a registry setting that controls this has been inadvertently changed, but I wouldn't know which entry to tweak.

    Any other ideas?

A year or so back Skype Click-To-Call was creating paste issues in Office. Did you install that lately?

Vincenzo, thanks but I had already disabled Skype Click To Call.

Does anybody have any other ideas?

    Hi Roy,

Have any of your security SW programs a setting the restricts the amount of time, of copied text in the clipboard.

George, no they haven't. However, I restored my C drive from a Macrium image (not specifically to sort the paste problem out) and now paste works normally again.

    Regards,

    Cool

Maybe you need to run Malwarebytes or superantispyware to ensure you haven't been invested.

Now all you have to do is, remember the changes you made.
