    Cool .net security update.

My OS is Win XP prof.

I hope I am doing this right. This is my first time in the lounge.

My problem is that I am getting the same updates, and cannot stop them.

Currently they are, Security update for .net framework 2 SP2 and 3.5 SP1. etc (KB9835583).
Security update for .net framework as above. etc. KB983583).

Windows update is set for accept download. I will install.

I have blocked aht same repeated updates many times.

Please advise how I overcome this problem. It is deiving me mad

Have these updates already installed previously? Most of the .net framework updates are for security purposes. You will see many versions of .net framework on most PCs as particular apps will require different versions of .net framework.

I suspect that Windows continues to offer these various .net framework updates because the apps that require them continue to ask for the updates.

Try uninstalling all versions of .net and the reinstalling .net 4 from here:
