    Mark as Read Danger?

If I click on the "Mark as Read" button to mark all threads in a forum as read, is there a danger that a new message that comes in between the time I display the forum index and the time I click the button will also get marked as read? In other words, is there a danger that I will mark messages that I haven't read but want to as read?

A thread which gets updated is shown at the top. So if I make a note before I press the button about what thread is at the top, and how many posts in the top thread, I can tell if there's anything new.
