Buy a new computer w/o bloatware

I've seen some posts asking about removing bloatware when buying a new computer
--- Well, I'd like to buy a new Windows 8 computer w/o bloatware on it. Is this possible?
--- I'm not looking to build the computer

Yes. Look at the Microsoft Store. None of the PCs they sell have bloatware.

Unfortunately most other PCs do have the bloatware. I suspect other than as Joe suggested, the neighborhood techs that build PCs to your specs will also install a generic version of whatever version of Win 8 you want.

    cmptrgy,

IMHO the PC Decrapifier does a great job of fixing this problem on a new PC. HTH

Look to the Business side of the supplier(s) you are interested in, they rarely have (much?) bloatware. Lenovo are one of the best retail suppliers that are widely available.

Thanks Medico. I just helped a friend learn how to use her new Windows 8 computer. She knows nothing about using a computer & I knew nothing about using Windows 8 but in 2 days she's up and running just fine and I was happy learning it. And with the help WS forums provide, I believe I'll be able to manage some advanced settings when I'm ready to do so

The sticky threads at the front of the Win 8 forum give a plethora of tips and customizations for making Win 8 a little more palatable for the average user. All of these tips can be found elsewhere, but we have tried to group some of them in one place to assist with this, what I consider, fantastic OS. YMMV!
