Combining multiple word files into one word file (Word 2010)
I have about 23 word files that I want to combine into one. Going forward, this will be a process that will be used again. The word files come from different clients, so format will be different in each set of docs from each client. The headers are different for each file and need to be maintained. I know that each file could be converted to a pdf then all files combined. I was hoping that there was a way in Word that I could combine all the files and retain the individual headers. This will allow me to make global formatting changes and corrections in the Word file, generate a Word TOC, internal references and links, etc.

Do NOT use the Master Documents "feature!"
Put each file into a separate "Section" of one Word document and you can have individual headers / footers. Sections, Headers, Footers and Page Numbering in Word 2007-2013Charles Kyle Kenyon
