    Laptop won't boot: "No bootable device"

    laptop wont boot, "no bootable device"

    just finished installing win 7 pro yesterday. today the zoostorm 10-270 laptop wont boot, error reads "no bootable device"-insert boot disc press any key. nothing in bios to help

    no optical drives or usb stick attached, any ideas

    Hello... how did you "install" Windows 7 Pro? ...Not familiar with zoostorm...I know that it is a basic notebook that comes with "windows 7 starter" does it have an CD\ DVD RW? Regards Fred

    If you have another computer running 7, try building a system restore disk and use it to boot the laptop, then see what it says. Since you don't have optical drives, you will need to build a restore flash drive.

    it has no optical drive but i borrowed an external one. i dont have another pc running win 7

    i read that someone found the hd was loose, and fixed the same problem. would like to check this but the case dosent want to come apart

    i will borrow the drive again

    Usually there is an access door on the bottom for the HD and RAM. Doesn't your have these doors?

    Edit: Oh dear, I guess not. Here are instructions for removing the HD.

    cant see the instructions but its been done now [thanks anyway] and the mb is broken...it the end...spares on ebay
