    word 2013 default template

I have created new styles I wish to use as a default template. I have had to name my new style. I want it to be the default template when opening a new document, but I am forced to load it separately.
How can I make it the default template
    Any help would be appreciated.

Make your change to the Normal template. This is the source of default new documents unless you specifically choose a template for your new documents.

"Template" is a term of art in Word. It describes a special subtype of file that is used as the basis for other documents and contains resources to be used in those documents. I suspect you mean format or example rather than template.

You can create such a template that has your format and put a shortcut to your template on your desktop or in your Start menu. If you use that shortcut to create a new document that will do what you want. If your template has text of any sort, including headers or footers, this is the only practical way to do it. If all we are talking about is styles, you can modify the normal.dotm template to include your styles and to use one of your styles as the starting point.

How to open or find the normal.dotm template.
