    Question word/excel 2007 macro created date

    Hi all,
    I find recording a VBA macro doesn't save the created date, office 2000 & 2003 did. Is there a hidden (MS again) option somewhere?

    Thanks in hope

    As far as I know, recording a macro has never 'saved the created date'. This property might be changeable but it is always 'saved' independently of a macro.

    What exactly did you want the macro to do? Where should the created date be saved to?

    In Word 2003, a recorded macro looked like this:

    Code:
    Sub Macro19()
    '
    ' Macro19 Macro
    ' Macro recorded 9/18/2013 by Company Employee
    '
        Selection.TypeText Text:="This is a test."
    End Sub
    Word 2010 shows only this comment: ' Macro4 Macro

    OP is, I think, asking how to display the info that Word 2003 displayed.

    Hey Y'all,

    I just checked and there is NO option in the VBE environment to set that behavior in either 2003 or 2010. It was there in 2003 and I guess MS in their all seeing wisdom decided to kill it sometime after 2003 (don't have 2007 to check). HTH

    Hi All,
    Yes, I was looking for the same as 2003. It's 2007 I'm using which was where I noticed the missing recorded date. It's a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless and was one of those 'goalpost shifting' scenarios that MS excel at (no pun intended).
    I now spend most of my time re-coding stuff I did in Office 2000 and constantly come up against hiccups in code that had ran perfectly for years. I think I'll lie down in a dark room and stick pins in a MS doll.

    Thanks anyway to everyone who tried, sorry I took so long.
