    Keyboard problem

My XP machine (SP3) has stopped recognising any USB keyboard.

I have tried several keyboards (wired & wireless) in all available USB sockets with no success. All the keyboards work on other pc's. All the USB sockets work with other devices insterted.

They work fine in BIOS, etc but not once windows has booted.

Device Manager has the (awful) Human Interface Device working properly

Anyone come across this before and/or got a solution

    Mouse working fine

    David,

Try deleting the keyboard in Device manager and then rebooting and allow Windows to rediscover it. Of course you want to have a recent Image of your HD and Boot media just incase! HTH

I assume you have tried to plug in the keyboard into all of your USB ports.

Do you have PS/2 ports on your computer? If RG's solution doesn't solve it, try powering down and then connecting a PS/2 keyboard.
