No .nick file in Outlook 2000

Responding to informative advice in this forum, I had an associate try to force the formation of a .nick file in Outlook 2000 (IMO installation) by using ctrl-k repeatedly in order to resolve a nickname to an email address. She's been ctrl-k-ing until her fingers are bleeding, and still no .nick file. She also unchecked, applied, rechecked, and reapplied Automatic name checking in Advanced email options. Now what?

the only thing i see in the KB is this, which is what you've been doing. The names she is trying to resolve are in the address book, correct? And the contacts book is working as an address book?

Yes, all correct. I've seen the kb article, too. I've been working with her over the phone and via email, so, lacking any other ideas, I'm going to wait until I can get my hands on her computer and work with it myself. Doing this long-distance, I think I've reached a dead end. Thanks for your help.

    Hi

Is she using Ctrl+K?* In which case, it won't work.
