    VISTA Fails to log in

    Windows Vista Home Premium fails to accept LOG IN password (its definately the right one and I've been using it since I bought the computer) the following message appears: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". Can anyone please offer a solution?

    I started up in Safe Mode using F8 on start up. I changed my password but that didn't help. However, by starting in Safe Mode I was able to fix the User Account Profile by Renaming the SID Key as per the tutorial on the web link that JoeP517 provided. So very grateful for your advice. Many thanks!
