IE Crashes (IE5.5 SR2)

I realize this is a very general question, but is there any particular, predominant cause for IE crashes resulting from/in lost file fragments? This happens almost every time we play a graphics-heavy on-line game. I've tried everything I can think of to address the problem: defragment the hard drive, run Norton Utilities WinDoctor and Disk Doctor, reinstall IE, etc., but it still happens. Any ideas?

Just a thought here: how large is the cache setting?(IE, that is.) Maybe you could increase it.

Good thought, Preston. I'll give that a try. Can you tell me what the relationship between the cache size and my problem might be?

Caching gives IE some holding ability to keep files on hand for quick use.

Another thought is: Direct X -- what version do you have? Take a look at http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/faq.asp

I'm using Windows 95, so I'm limited to DirectX 7.x, which I'm currently using.
