OE6 in xp- going to win7 --help!

    I need to move my 32bit xp oe6 mail to win7 pro 64bit !!

    Would this work ??

I install MS outlook in XP 32bit and have it pull over my OE6 mail, I backup/export Outlook to a USB drive.

Next, I install Outlook on my win 7 pro 64bit and have it import !!

    Has anyone tried this scenario??

If you base it in Outlook, as you seem to want to do, it should work. It may involve manually copying the .pst file.

What do you mean by "manually" copying ?

I just right clicked the .pst file and click 'copy' and then pasted it to tme mentioned desktop folder --- is this wrong ??

Almost every service call I've had on an email failure in the past umpteen years has been because of OUTLOOK. I won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

On Windows 7, you can simply and easily RE-Enable Windows Mail, which looks and acts almost exactly like O.E.6 (on steroids)

You can also import all your mail, Address Book, etc., from OE to WinMail.
I won't go into the process again, as I and Medico both have gone into the process in earlier threads.

I've done it for all my customers who have upgraded to Win-7 from XP and wanted to take their email with them.

    Good Luck!

No, it's not wrong. When you said "backup / export" I thought you meant through some automated process... please disregard the "manual" comment.
