Sleep or hibernation makes Word documents read-only
I work in an organization that has a file server, and for the sake of automatic backup I store all of my documents there.
When I wake up my computer after hibernation or sleep, Word sets every open document to read-only. Apparently it tries to access each document at the first possible instant, before the network has reconnected, and when it finds that it can't, it does this.
I've used Word on plenty of networks before and I never had this problem. I'm not sure whether it is unique to Word 2010 or to my organization's network, but it's very irritating. Closing and reopening every document would be a major nuisance. In some cases just remembering which documents I had open (and which versions of them) is problematic.
Does anyone know why Word is behaving this way, and/or how to make it stop?
