Office 2010 Compatability With Office 2003

I want to upgrade to Office 2010, but I am concerned how the layout of my office files (Word, Excel & Power Point) will be affected when opened in 2010 - any sugestions or first hand experiences?

    Hizznherz,

Welcome to the Lounge as a new poster!

In my experience you shouldn't have any problem with 2003 file format when opened in 2010. Where problems occur is when you try to save a 2010 generated document in 2003 format and you've used features that are new in 2010 and don't exist in 2003. The other problem area is with Visual Basic For Applications (VBA) or Macros. Things have changed here and you may run into problems especially with custom menus. HTH

    Thanks

    Thank you for the welcome.
I usually have no problem getting my hands dirty (so to speak), but I do want to eliminate all occurences of Office 2003 (including all updates over the years) from my computer and needed a little reassurance before I took the plunge.
